Lynlee's Birthday Party Day!

(Lynlee in her party dress)

On Sunday we had Lynlee's birthday party. It was a much needed day after the week we've had (another blog will follow soon about details.) We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends!

Like always, Lynlee loved having all the attention. She went from table to table, person to person and loved every minute of it.

She had a couple little friends there to play with :)

She only got scared singing Happy Birthday, but she held it together. She wasn't to sure about the cake, but did her fair share of playing it in.

My only regret of the day: I didn't get many pictures :(

Now to find places for all the birthday gifts, I think we need a bigger house.

Happy Birthday Lynlee

Dear Lynlee,

Happy Birthday Baby Girl! I can't believe that you are one today! I can't believe we have a year behind us. It seems like just yesterday I held you in my arms for the first time.

I knew I loved you before I met you, but I never knew I would love you this much. I never knew it was possible to love someone this much.

There were days this past year that made me unsure if we would see this birthday. There were doctors that said we wouldn't. I thank God everyday that they were wrong. I thank him that you proved them wrong.

You've been through more things in your first twelve months that some people have been through in a lifetime. You've been through Kidney Dialysis, Four surgeries, been inhabited 6 times, and so much more with all the blood work etc. I knew you would be strong minded, but I never knew you would be this strong, or have to be this strong!

I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this. I pray every night that it will change, but it's part of God's plan. and if I know anything it's that he has BIG plans for you! If he didn't we wouldn't have made it this far.

You've changed so many peoples lives since you've came into this world. I know you've changed mine! You've made me a better person. You showed how strong I can be when I needed to be. You've taught me faith and hope. Because of you I know what matters most now.

I want you to know there is nothing in this world that I would not do for you!

I love you so much! I'm so lucky and so proud to have you as my daughter!

Happy Birthday Baby,

Love,
Momma

Festival 2010

Yesterday afternoon Lynlee and I were going for a walk. We decided it was to nice of a day for her to do her 2pm feed inside and we have to get all the warm weather in that we can. Fall is here and winter is coming!

As we were walking down the road, talking about the cars going by, and the few people that we saw it was hard to believe that was the same town we saw just a few days ago. The hundreds of people walking the streets were gone. The carnival rides and stands were being loaded, and even all the food stands gone.

I'm like most of this town that looks forward to the festival. I was extra excited for this year to be Lynlee's first one. She loved it. She is way to social not to. She loved to ride in her stroller and watch the people, and the lights.

Lynlee went on her first carousel ride. Like most things, I was more excited about it than she was. But she rode. She never cried! She acted like she'd been doing it her whole life.

But again, like most people in this town, I'm glad when it's all over. It's hard on our wallets and our waistlines. (HAHA)

Till next year........

Our First Family Vacation

Well Lynlee survived, in fact loved her first real vacation. Last Sunday we packed up and headed toward Ocean City, MD. The first day we just went half way because we know how tired Lynlee gets of driving and I didn't want to wear her out her first day. We found a Hampton and called it a night!

(Lynlee having her first bath in a sink!)

Monday morning we packed up and headed the rest of the way. The view from the condo was amazing. The weather was not. In fact, it rained 4 out of the 5 days we were there and the day it didn't rain the wind was to strong to enjoy the beach.

We kept our self busy, but doing lots of shopping, eating, and swimming in the pool. Swimming was Lynlee's favorite by far! We played a little putt-putt, and did a lot of relaxing. On most days Lynlee was so excited she didn't want to nap. Naps were few and far between.

It was a much needed vacation with no worries.

Check Up

Lynlee had her scheduled appointment at Children's Yesterday. In general, I was not looking forward to it. If felt like we had just got home from there, and our first appointment wasn't even until 2pm.

We got there early to get her blood work done then headed to her G-Tube appointment. She does need a bigger G-Tube since she has grown so much. They didn't have them in stock so they are just mailing it to me this week. This will be my first time switching it out at home. I've done it once in the hospital.

Our second appointment in the day was Genetics. Lynlee's ammonia was 35 yesterday. I was so pleased with that!! They are extremely happy with Lynlee, her levels, and her development. They should be calling probably tomorrow with any formula change they might make. The doctor also said he would see us in 3 months.. My exact words were, Umm NO!! He then laughed and said how about 2? That will work since we went almost 7 weeks this time. I know the longer apart the appointment are the more in control they think she is, but I'm still so afraid she will get a growth spurt or something. We are going to do every other week ammonia's, and continue to do weekly weights.

We are heading to the beach next week for Lynlee's first vacation. I've been on line and found the closest hospitals and know where to go if something would happen. I also called the hospital to make sure they can check ammonia, etc.

So if nothing exciting happens this week I'll blog when we get back from the beach and post lots of pictures :)

Lynlee's Ride

Lynlee's Ride for a Cure for Cycle!

We ride for Lynlee! Why? Because she is amazing. She is strong, smart, and beautiful! She is a fighter!

In the 11 short months Lynlee has been here with us she has went through 4 surgery's. That is 4 too many to us. She has been inhabited 6 times in the past 11 months. 4 of those times were for the surgery.

We ride for a cure because we have faith there will be a cure!

We ride for your future children. A UCD child is born everyday! The next one could be yours!

We ride for AWARENESS!! The best hospital (or some say) in our state didn't know what was wrong with Lynlee!

We are asking you to ride with us! Not to be pushy, but we would ride for you and your children!

If anyone has $10 extra dollars, $5 extra or just a few dollars it would be appreciated.

Join our team!! Help us find a cure!
