Color Vibe 2013

It's 7:30am and we should be on our way for blood work but Lynlee is sleeping and I don't have the heart to wake her. We had a busy weekend for sure and I think she needs the rest.

As I've posted before Ryan and I have been training to do a 5k. That's 3.1 miles. I honestly never thought we would do it. And I probably would have quit by now if he wasn't doing it with me. I'm not sure why we picked the Color Vibe as our first race. But we did. It was also in Charleston so we talked Ryan's brother Kevin and Janna into doing it with us.

It was fun. It was messy. It was so crowded. I never dreamed that many people would be there. But at the end of the day I marked running a 5k off my bucket list. The race wasn't timed at all but we ran it in 35mins. Not bad considering every color station we got to we had to walk through and sometimes we just couldn't get around the walkers.

Our Before photo

This was actually before the race started. No one can be trusted with their color packets.

After

Love, Love, Love this picture!

It meant the world to me that Ryan and I started side by side and finished the same way. He is definitely the better runner out of us but the fact that we did it together made it that much more special.

I'm already itching to find another race so that we have to keep up our schedule. We've worked so hard to be able to run and I don't want to lose it.

Happy Monday everyone!

Another tooth gone.

It has definitely been a week and it isn't even Friday yet.

Sunday while we were at a restaurant eating Lynlee kept complaining her food was hot. It wasn't hot so I had no clue what was going on with her. Well after being up all nigh Sunday night with she woke up Monday morning with a swollen cheek. After a trip to the pediatrician we found out it was her tooth that had an infection.

Nothing with Lynlee is easy. Our pediatricians office finally found an office that would see us. No one wanted to because of her medical history. Ugh. But we ended up making at trip to Morgantown on Monday afternoon for them to see her. She was put on antibiotics immediately. They scheduled us for next week but ended up moving her up to today.

So after an early morning the tooth is removed. She is napping now and all is right in our world right now.

I know I have so much to say but nothing is coming to mind right now.

We are heading to Charleston this weekend for our race. I'm excited. Pictures to come next week.

I'll leave with a few pictures I found in my phone.

She was patiently waiting for the dentist this morning.

No Boxing Today!

I can't believe I haven't posted since Lynlee started school. Probably because I'm hiding from this post. I know everyone wants to know how she is doing and what's going on with us. Well here goes.

Today is the 6th day she has went to school. I don't know how today is going but this is what I know from the past 5 days. She has been in time out 3 times and pulled her feeding tube out once. The first two days of school she had time out for hair pulling. So last Thursday I resulted in what is my last resort. Bribery. I told her is she wasn't in time out she could go pick out something as a prize. It worked! We might have came home with a 15.00 ATM machine that no one in this house can figure out how to play with it, but she didn't pull hair. On Tuesday we used the prize incentive again. It did work but we made it to the dollar tree that time. Momma can't spend 15.00 a day on toys! So I was like oh we can handle this a dollar tree trip for a few days and she will get the point of being good etc.. Well yesterday it didn't work. She was in timeout for boxing! Really?! So my last words were no boxing today Lynlee as I dropped her off this morning. Oh I just hope it's a better day..

She really scared the school when she pulled out her tube. I've yet to figure out why she pulled it out. She was there all last year and it never came out. Thankfully it was at the very end of the day. Ryan's dad was already there to pick her up so he brought her home and met Ryan here it was put back in and all is good. In the mean time I've over 30 minutes away freaking out. I do have to work on my outburst when they call. I'm sure it's not appropriate to say Oh shit to the church... Next time I'll try to do better.

I think that is all for now. Lynlee is back to monthly labs at this point. We go back on the 30th for repeats.

I'll leave you with a smile. Last Friday night we babysit Brody. Here is a picture of them two playing in the sand box.

First Day

I can't believe today was Lynlee's first day of school.
Things have really changed since last year. She's grown up so much and not just in physical features either.
I told myself I wasn't going to cry but as I walked down the steps and got into the car I felt myself tear up. Last year I was crying because I was so worried, nervous, and scared for her. Today I was happy, proud, and relieved. 3 1/2 years ago I wasn't sure she would even be here today let alone walking up the stairs with me, giving me a huge hug and a kiss and walking into a class room with other kids. I didn't know if she would ever walk or talk let alone get this far.
I see her every day finding more independence, and more "normalcy" and at the end of the day that's what I want for her. To never be limited to anything, to be herself and to shine above all else.
I was definitely one proud momma today.

More Random Posts

Another bunch of randoms:

Ryan and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary last weekend. I laugh when people ask us how we met. The story starts with one drunk night at a bar....... and ends with I told my sister I was going to marry that boy. She didn't believe me, told me it was the tequila talking. I'll let you figure out who was right. and another blog I'll fill in the middle of the story for you..

What else have we been doing since my last blog?

We made a trip to Lowes.

Decided to dig up our yard a little bit. I'm pretty sure Brody was the most excited of the two.

We got a lot of rain and our road flooded. Yes that's a princess dress and rain boots.

Lynlee also got labs on Friday. We did have the week off but I asked if we could go on Friday since today was a holiday and she starts school again tomorrow. No one should have to get blood work on their first day of school.. Or the 2nd or 3rd for that matter. The labs look great but I haven't heard anything from Pitt yet.

I know I already said but Lynlee does start back to school tomorrow. We are still sending her to the church program we went her to last year. (Momma still can't handle the though of public school.) She will go the three days a week and 3 1/2 hours a day. I can tell you I'm in a better state of mind this year. No tears have been shed on my part. She doesn't seem too excited but isn't upset about going this year.

I'll be back tomorrow with 1st day of school pictures :)
